Health Ambassadors

Health Ambassadors is a program I participated in through STRIDEwhile attending Cal Poly University. The mission of Health Ambassadors is “to serve the community of San Luis Obispo and surrounding cities by providing nutrition and fitness education programming and health promotion services targeted toward elementary and middle school aged children. Cal Poly students will serve as Health Ambassadors fostering campus-community outreach that promotes the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors by children and families in our community.”

My Design Work

Broc-Mana Veggie Superhero I created as part of the Taste Testings nutrition education program in order to increase fruit and vegetable intake in elementary school students

Broc-Man Powers: description of Broc-Man’s special powers used in our elementary school nutrition education lesson described above

SuperBowl Banner: a poster I designed that was used as part of the voting system we developed for kids to choose which featured fruit/vegetable they liked best. For example, the week’s tasting might feature oranges vs tangerines and a picture of each fruit would be fastened to the poster.
